Poetry surrounds us everywhere, but putting it on paper is, alas, not so easy as looking at it, said Vincent van Gogh. One must be born with a willingness to be delighted, excited, intrigued, overwhelmed by any experience, real or imaginary for one to reach the heights and depths of creative realm – of both painting or poetry. That ‘willingness’ is evident in the poems presented here, which are more like paintings, with their clear and evocative imagery and work sketching.
